Former Local Television Personality, an ETSU Innovation Lab Affiliate Member, Launches Tri-Cities Gourmet Seasonings Company
JOHNSON CITY — Former television personality Rob Batot, previously known as Meteorologist Rob Williams, is launching Sensational Seasonings, a boutique business that will serve the growing demand for meals that support healthy living and good nutrition without sacrificing gourmet flavor. Sensational Seasonings, based in Johnson City, is introducing a line of artisanal food seasonings and meat rubs for the everyday foodie, the backyard cook and the busy households striving for healthier eating habits and sensational alternatives.
Recognizing a need in the marketplace for delicious, healthier seasoning blends and rubs that don’t depend on salt and MSG for flavor, Sensational Seasonings initial product line includes:
- Pork Rub (salt-free)
- Jamaican Jerk Seasoning (very low sodium)
- Chicken Seasoning (low sodium)
Batot has spent years studying the health benefits of herbs and spices as well as finding ways to use them in everyday cooking. He realized that many off-the-shelf seasoning blends deliver good flavor, but at the expense of healthy eating. Committed to bridge that gap, Batot stated, “we recognized a need in family kitchens for healthier cooking choices so we created our seasoning recipes to meet FDA salt-free and low sodium guidelines, while providing products with unique and enjoyable flavor combinations.”
According to Dr. Audrey Depelteau, Director of the ETSU Innovation Lab, “working with Rob as an Affiliate Member has been very rewarding. Sensational Seasonings has a strong business model and has been accepted by Pick Tennessee Products, a site developed by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.”
Sensational Seasonings is available to consumers through selected retailers and by direct order through its website and other online venues. Sensational Seasonings has partnered with Mize Farm and Garden, located in Gray, Tennessee, as its first retail outlet for customers located in the Tri-Cities and southwest Virginia. In addition, the company will promote healthy cooking ideas and tips through a ‘Recipe’ section on its website.
The company is co-owned by Chris Dagenhart, Johnson City, Tennessee, who brings over 30 years of business development experience. For more details, visit www.sensationalseasonings.com. For more information, please contact Rob Batot at email@example.com.
